Class of 2028 Application Timeline

August 1, 2023 - Class of 2028 Application, Financial Aid Application and Registration for the Entrance/Scholarship Exam, Visitation Days & Tours and Fall 2023 Open House will open

September 2023- Financial Aid Application Opens

September 28, 2023 - Legacy Scholarship Applications & Recommedations Due & Extended Time Documentation for the Entrance-Scholarship Exam Due

October 6, 2023 - Due Date for Scholarship Supplemental Materials for Music, Art & STEM Scholarships

All application materials & documentation for First Round Consideration must be submitted/uploaded prior to the Fall 2023 Entrance/Scholarship Exam. 

October 7 & 15, 2023 - Entrance-Scholarship Exam (Students need only attend one testing date)

An application must be submitted in order to access the admissions checklist and register for the Entrance-Scholarship exam, scheduling a visitation day, and submitting supplemental materials. 

All admissions materials can be submitted via the Admissions Portal.

The Entrance/Scholarship Exam for the Class of 2028 will be offered on Saturday, October 7, 2023 and Sunday, October 15, 2023 

The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is for 8th graders applying for 9th grade admissions for the 2024-2025 academic year. 

A student must sit for the Scholarship-Entrance Exam at GMAHS on testing weekend in order to be eligible to be reviewed for scholarships. Students need only sit for the exam on one of the offered dates. 

Please register for the Entrance-Scholarship Exam through your Admissions Portal after you have submitted your application.

Check-in will begin at 7:30 am. Testing begins promptly at 8:00 am. Testing will end between 11:30 am - 12 (noon) approximately. Students requesting extended time may have the latest dismissal time.

*Late applicants for the Class of 2028 may sit for the Modified-Entrance Exam.  This exam is offered on a rolling basis.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School requires the submission of the following application materials:

• An unofficial copy of your daughter's academic transcript that should include all marks and standardized test scores

• One recommendation from a teacher who knows the applicant especially well and can speak to her academic ability and character. Your recommendation request will be sent as part of your application. 

You can request these supplemental materials digitally from schools/teachers via the Application Checklist in your Admissions Portal.

Admissions decision cannot be made until we have received all materials.

All 8th grade students who apply to Gwynedd are encouraged to come spend the day!

Visitation Days run annually from September through December for all 8th grade students who are interested in applying to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School.

8TH GRADE VISITATION DAY REGISTRATION

Thanks to all who attended our Fall 2023 Open House! The Fall 2025 Open House date will be announced soon!

Open House is an opportunity for all interested students and their families to spend the afternoon at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School with current students, parents, and faculty. Learn about the Gwynedd community; a place where young women thrive in an environment that fosters academic rigor, personal growth, and service and leadership opportunities.

8th graders (for the Class of 2028) applying to Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School can submit a Financial Aid/Tuition Assistance application via our Financial Aid application page.  Our financial aid application opens September 10th! Any prospective student who wishes to be considered for Financial Aid/Tuition Assistance, must submit a completed Financial Aid application with all supporting documents through FACTS.  If the applicant meets this deadline, decisions about financial awards will be communicated before the Confirmation Deadline.

All returning Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School families and transfer students will apply for Financial Aid starting in January, each year.

*Please note, financial aid for late 9th grade applicants and transfer applicants is reviewed on a rolling basis

Prospective 8th Grade students & parents are invited to join us for a Personal Tour in the fall.

Personal Tours last about 90 minutes and are ideal for 8th graders who may not be able to join us for a full visitation day! All personal tours begin at 8:30 am and conclude at 10:00 am!

Personal Tours take place October through December again from February through May.

Current 7th Grade Students (Class of 2028) who take the 7th Grade Practice Test at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School are considered for the Class of 2028 Accelerated Scholars Program.
